I think it's been debunked but people will tend towards certain (sometimes stronger) liquors and vary the amount they drink depending on their mood, which being drunk will amplify, so I think that's where it comes from.

I think you're right. It probably more has to do with intent of the drinker. If I want to have a chill cozy time, beer is perfect for me. If I want to get fucked up and crazy, I'll be doing shots of whiskey. With that said, I swear absinthe makes me just have a lot of fun. I think it's possible that it just hits hard and fast.

 

i think thete might be something to it. im usually a more happy and social person while drinking tequila and rumpleminze turns me in to a very unpleasant and rowdy person. fuck rumple tbh
