i guess i just find some comfort in how relatable their songs are

pinegrove really cuts deep for me lyrically, even as a band that only came into my life a few years ago they've become very special to me.

 

oh i get it, they are great writers. but i am prone to depression so i stick with other stuff typically. like, i have not listened to the new julien baker once and i LOVE her. but i know it would legit bring me to tears rn.

 

I don't think music has ever made me feel sad and I feel like I'm broken

I like sad music and I like happy music

I always wanna check out more sad music but I also hate the "sad boy everything sucks I'm so introspective but also fuck me" persona that so many of their fans have (not anyone in this thread obviously) because it reminds me of douchebags with guitars at parties, and when those are the people I see constantly talking about these sad albums and how they're must-hears I'm just like "nah I'll wait"

 

i feel like lyrically they have the market cornered in the "20something trying to figure it all out" department. I could pull a lyric from just about every song of theirs that hits close to home in some way
