that's fair, I guess. there are plenty of great non-HBO shows, but you're missing out if you haven't ever watched any HBO shows.

i pay $795 for a 4 bedroom/1 bath with roof access and secure entry. i could afford it myself if i absolutely had to, so splitting it three ways feels like robbery. Troy, NY is really experiencing a renaissance but the rent hasn't caught up yet so it's a great place to live.

 

I rent a house.

It would be nice to own something and know it's "mine" but at the same time, having to take care of shit when stuff goes wrong does not seem like fun. Also the ability to move wherever, whenever (not that I even want to) is nice too.

That being said, if you can rent a house instead of an apartment, it's WAAAAAAAAY better.

 

I bought season one of The Wire and watched most of it. But I lack dedication required for shows like that

 

Plus I don't ever want to have more space/possessions than I need. Just a few nice things.

 

That is dirt cheap

2 bedroom apartments here are twice that

 

In Harker Heights I paid $650/mo for a 3 bedroom

Here we do like $1200something for a 2 bedroom

It's a much better place here though

Mine is comparable at 1100 for a 2 bdrm which is really cheap for the city. I feel like our landlord doesn't know that yet

 

In New York it's like $2000 for a studio if you're lucky lol it's insane
