I've seen numerous posts encouraging people to engage with their racist/conservative relatives. Idk man I'd rather just eat my food and dip out and not have an anxiety attack/lose more faith in humanity

I wanted to go and crash my friend's thanksgiving with his family but he told me he has to go to his wife's families' Catholic Church thanksgiving. I'm like "in-laws am I right?" He's a Pastor.

I don't wanna repeat but there was a gross conversation about Caitlin Jenner, and then apparently these people like that "Take a Knee, My Ass" song and of course they're mad about Colin Kaepernick being GQ Man of the year

 

Is it only white people's thanksgiving that are tortuous? It's like a curse for you folks.

 

Yeah. It’s this weird thing where my sister and brother in law make racist jokes and other inappropriate jokes like they are 13 years old except they’re 37.

 

Y’all make me happy that my family is fairly liberal

 

My dad's side isn't as bad. They're conservative but at least they don't talk politics much. And they drink. But of course we had to come to my mom's side instead

I'm seriously considering not coming in the future, if I can find any excuse to get out of it

 

White people are the worst

 

Mine went to North Carolina for Thanksgiving, so we didn't have to see them, nor go anywhere.
