You can do it. I'm terrible at planning and sometimes I skip meals, which is bad, but skipping a meal just means you have to eat more later haha. As long as you eat the right things, you're golden. Wings, burgers, whatever. Just no carbs. No sugar.

Eggs scrambled, omelet, or fried in butter with a piece of bacon or a sausage link. Deli meat/cheese in a low carb tortilla for lunch or snack. Meat dish for lunch, wtfever I do for dinner, which is the problem

The alcohol and snack foods at night are probably part of the problem too.

    Whoops.

It's perfectly fine if you do it right.

Yeah I've cut out snacks completely. Only drinking straight liquor (or vodka clubs) or dry wine.

Yeah, the sugar has become a HUGE problem for me. I used to be real good about it, but lately I've been so tired that sugar and caffeine have been my go to's. No bread is a bummer, but I'm a carnivore at heart so I can do without. Introducing more vegetable will probably be a little difficult, but I'm sure I can do it.

If healthier things were readily available on every corner, I could do it, I'm just too lazy to plan/cook most of the time.

    People misunderstand it sometimes.

It's not all sticks of butter, heavy cream, red meat, and bacon.

It's healthy vegetables and meat with fat. No extraneous carbs.

My alcohol is usually bourbon and coke zero or apple bourbon and diet ginger ale

It's all about how you do it. If you're eating burgers and wings all the time but eliminating bread, you'll probably lose weight, but you're not gonna be healthy. If you eat burgers and wings sometimes, but fill most of your diet with veggies, then yeah, you're on the right track.

I prescribe to these diet ideas:

    1. "carbs and sugar are the worst possible thing"

    2. "animal fats are not bad at all....

unless you mix them with carbs"

    3. "make sure you get vitamins from fruits and veggies."

I definitely went through sugar withdrawal this week and that sucked haha

Time to switch to bourbon on the rocks or old school cocktails haha. I've been drinking a lot of martinis lately. Some calories, but 0 carbs.

I've done lots of research regarding health/diet. My gf studied for a year to be a health coach and I basically read/watched every thing.

Sugar/carbs are evil, but I'm convinced that a plant based diet is the way to go.

That being said, do what you can.

I know I can't give up meat, and I don't want to, but I feel like I should just try to incorporate more veggies into my diet and crowd out as much of the other stuff as possible.

giving up booze was the best thing i did this year. i feel really good, pretty much all the time. i didn't have a traditional "drinking problem", but i consider feeling like shit so often a problem in hindsight lol

I could eat steamed veggies every day. + chicken or fish or some steak every once in a while and I'd be sitting completely fine.

I just need to be less depressed and lazy so I can cook more.

I feel like the whole calories in calories out thing is a little misleading. You're not wrong. If you consume twice as many calories as you burn, you're going to gain weight, but not all calories are equal either.

I think living in a society where we focus so much on the way we look, people forget that it shouldn't be about weight it should be about health. If you eat a shitload of veggies all day long and eliminate sugar, you're gonna be a lot better off than if you only eat one meal a day but it's a supersized Big Mac meal.

I don't believe in worrying about calories either. But what do I know. I just try and avoid carbs and sugar really. And I notice a humongous difference with that. Different people's body's can react differently though.
