Wow. Just found out there’s this place by my house called The Pie Bar. Gonna call real quick and see if they offer the cheese special.

 

I feel like a total fucking moron right now. I was super close to falling for a scam that almost got my credit card number but they unfortunately got my SSN. So I got this email supposedly from Apple saying I was charged for $500 in gift cards. Not thinking, I panicked and went to this link to "get my account back" I entered in my Apple ID (which I changed) and put in my SSN not thinking. When I got to the CC info page, I got suspect and checked my bank account to see that nothing was charged. I then went back to this page and realized that it was a fake page and I almost entered my CC info for a double whammy. So I immediately put in a 90 day credit fraud alert and a credit freeze, changed my Apple ID, and now I'm trying to figure out what to do with my SSN being compromised. I feel so fucking stupid.

Now I realized that I never got my PIN for the Equifax credit freeze, goddammit.

 

You should just call the government and change your socia--- oh.

 

I honestly am flabbergasted and pissed at how woefully inadequate the government is about dealing with this stuff. Like seriously, this is a big deal and you don't have things in place to protect people in case their SSN gets stolen or to even report it so it isn't used for fraud? What the fuck?

There needs to be some kind of reform or policy created to combat this.

 

I guess I can't freak out too much, I've done all I can really do right now. Who knows, maybe nothing will happen out of this after all and I'll get lucky.
