I'm listening to Lydia and I have to say, this shit makes you feel the feels.

 

uh, wow. she came off like a garbage fire in that response to the backlash. do i hate cheap vagina jokes? yep, usually - with the same fire i hate cheap dick jokes. one of my favorite comedians is Jon Gabrus and i can barely stand him in some environments because he just goes off on cheap sex/genital stuff for 30 mins at a time. i can't even think of a female comedian outside of Schumer that leans on those. maybe Silverman, but she is just a sex-positive person and it's usually less a vagina joke and more a story/observation related to a sexual encounter, and it's usually great. i have no idea what she's talking about. when i think of female powerhouses in comedy i think of, like, Wild Horses. they never resort to cheap gags so idk.

I kind of agree with her to a degree but I also don't know who she's talking about besides Schumer. ( I actually like Schumer a fair amount tho) Maybe its actually about Amy but she just didn't want to get specific? I also think that she's being a hypocrite because she has those types of jokes too. Everyone should have probably just ignored her lol

 

idk. it was her choice to publicly throw an entire gender of performers under the bus with no citations or examples. i think it's more "anti-feminist" to literally shame women for writing bits about their genitals than it is to gain success off of them.

i have a very hard time sympathizing with adult celebrities who can't handle themselves in the public eye

Agreed but I just think the ultimate comeback would be have been nothing at all to make the point of what you're saying doesn't hold any value and we're not even going to bother with you. I also don't like her delusional view on herself that she is a revolutionary comic

 

I really like her honestly. I feel like most don't.

I used to think she was ok mostly because I could relate to some of what she said about women but yesterday I went back and watched a couple of her specials and they were pretty cringe-worthy
