Should I watch the The Godfather for the first time ever now that it's on netflix

Ugh. My roommate is back after being gone for like a week and a half. Gonna go knock on his door and see what the fuck is up with him. Gonna take everything not to just punch him in the face.

My two biggest blind spots: horror and mostly anything before I was born. I have no right to call myself a movie buff

 

Also, Stardust's on Netflix if you want to see De Niro steal an entire film playing a gay pirate

 

The Godfather doesn't seem like the type of movie you see on Netflix, I half watch every movie I watch on Netflix though

 

It's more than 3 hours long so... quarter watch it?

 

In other movie news, I'm probably seeing Phantom Thread on Monday. Wish I saw it in 70mm in Brookline last week tho

 

I'm excited they added the 90s Batman movies though, I've only seen Batman Forever because I was like 7 when it came out which is the perfect age to watch Batman Forever
I've seen the Nolan ones though

 

I love movies. They are easily some of the most important things to me, but I wouldn’t ever call myself a movie buff because there is just so much old shit I haven’t seen. I watch more than your average movie goer, but there are people who are dedicated to watching everything and that’s just not me

 

Batman Begins is easily my favorite origin story (or just a first entry) for a CBM

I feel that way about movies and music, like I know more about music than about 80% of the population but then I go on this site and feel like I know nothing about music and have never heard a band in my life lol

 

I feel knowledgeable about movies and directors and random useless behind the scenes information because I read about that stuff a lot, but there are so many classics I’ve never seen and I dunno when/if I will. If I have the choice of staying in and watching an old movie or going out and drinking with friends, 9 times out of 10 I’m going out

I’m strugglin. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favorite games of all time and for that reason I feel like I have to play it. I followed the production of TLG and knew that it had so many hiccups and every review I read was middle of the road, but man it’s still disappointing even with little to no expectations. It has glimmers of greatness, but some of it is straight up bad and the controls are awful. One of my biggest issues that it often feels aimless. But unlike a game such as Zelda BOTW where when there are no clear objectives, you enjoy exploring the world and create your own adventure, this is a rather linear experience that gives little to no direction. It’s conflicting cause I often feel games aren’t challenging enough, but there is a difference between challenging and bad design, and I feel like this aligns with the latter.

 

I'm disappointed more people didn't try the McTrump challenge.
