Perkins doesn’t seem like the person that would ever let this be released, but I would love to see as much leftover footage of Nic Cage as possible. Just him improvising or bloopers or all of it. That would probably be fascinating to see. But it’s obviously not that kind of movie. lol
Feel like that could ruin the mystique/creepiness of what we see in the movie, but it would be interesting. I'm glad it was axed based of the description, but I'd be interested to see this alleged post-credits scene.
That’s exactly why I don’t think it would ever happen too. And maybe it shouldn’t. But that would just be a fascinating one to see.
Perkins’ interview on The Big Picture Podcast is very good. He’s not a writer-director that seems to care about mystique too much. He admits what his movies are about. He fully confesses the bus stop scene was basically the scene from “Seven.” He dunks on Netflix and “Fly Me To The Moon. For the qualms I have about some of his choices, he seems like a refreshingly honest and intentional filmmaker.
Also, this is the biggest Nic Cage-starring opening since 2009 with this film, which you could not convince me is real.
Thought Cage was doing a bit too much, Maika is one of the greatest doing it, really was all the way in until the exposition dump All that said I still liked this a lot!
Also anyone that dug this and hasn’t seen Memories of Murder and/or Cure should definitely check those out, found them to be more unnerving
lmao, yeah, that also took me out. the more I sit with this and read about it, the more I know it's a mostly good film with just as many bizarre choices that don't work as there are some really great moments. not only does it exist, but it's ambitious and Shyamalan-level bonkers and (mostly) better than you would expect. Proyas rules lol
Stole this from a Youtube comment, but it's a question I also had and I like this answer: I took the name Longlegs to mean it's what a serpent would call itself in human form because serpent = no legs. If serpent gots legs serpent say I got longlegs. He says at the beginning "Today I wore my long legs"
I like this a lot more than what I saw Oz say in an interview about it - essentially that its just a unique word that more or less fits the vibe and character
I would have thought it was something like He only targets children who are short so to them he has long legs lol, like how he bent down in the opening (which was still the "scariest" part of the movie to me, I love the way they did that open)
I think it's just a creepy name that reminds me of spiders or predators in general, which he seems to be. Also do we need to be spoiling in this thread with the movie out?
