Nothing announced today so far tells me it'll be one of those rush announcements tomorrow if there is a show. That makes me think it's something like RHCP over The 1975.

They can do what they did for Metallica in 2021. Announced the day of, in person sale only. If thats the case it must be something big like RHCP or Lana Del Rey

That's what I'm assuming. No need to do that for The 1975 when their fanbase is terminally online.

Reddit says the Metro marquee is already set up for PTM so sounds like there is no after show tonight.

Between NewJeans and Billie, that's not super surprising.

Fests need to really move to the Bonnaroo model with pits at the main stage, to allow fans to get close to the acts they want to see but not ruin the vibe for other acts before them.

At roo the entire front of the two main stages is blocked off, each holds prob 1,000 people. After each act they empty the area and allow in the next group. You queue for the act you want to see. It ensures the people up front at there for that act and overall improves the energy in the crowd up front.

Also eliminates any type of crowd surge up front.

I would support this, especially at Riot Fest and Lolla. Pitchfork somehow works for the most part because the vibes are so much better.

I couldn't even tell you who the fuck NewJeans is and I have no desire to find out.

This has always been the case since it started to pivot the acts it books. Losing two years of going to concerts has stunted many.

I heard about someone reading during all of the sets and recall Adam calling them out during TBS's set

Saw a bit of that, too. It's dreadful. This festival obviously already sold out but now it's something different.

Metro could tweet out blink is playing an after show tonight and it would still sell out. People would flock fast as fuck if it’s in person sales

Fully understood if kpop is not your thing, but what NewJeans is doing right now is pretty wild. They currently have the #1 album in the US, and Lolla was only, I am pretty sure, their second full scale concert performance. They're young (15-19) and have varying levels of English fluency (Dani and Hanni were both raised in Australia). It's pop music, and it's done very well, and considering they were playing for SO many people and were so on point and SO many people were interested in them to catch their set, it's all very impressive!

I will argue this until the end of time, the “Lolla is all kids and teens” take is sooo overstated. Yes of course that’s what it is at Newjeans or up and current trendy rappers. Seemed like a perfectly normal crowd of young adults (25-35) at Carly Rae, Karol G, etc yesterday. It’s always gonna look worse on livestreams because all the kids are the ones with the energy to be up front. And you only notice them when you’re walking around more because they’re louder and more energetic.
