::makes note:: I'll go ahead preschedule a doctor appointment for a broken nose for the day after this show.
Happened the same as yesterday, put them in the cart and then sent me to queue and got stucked there. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow
Someone on Reddit shared this poster that has Porno for Pyros instead of Janes Addiction. Although on theirnsite it still says Janes is playing
Just a heads up to any regular festival goers that not only is this J-Hope's first solo gig, it's basically the first solo gig of any BTS member since like, 2015 (a smaller scale hip-hop festival), so the demand to see this is gonna be pretty high and there's prob going to be quite a wave of people there just to see him. I personally am bummed he's up against Green Day because I'd like to see both!
As someone over 25 who finds K Pop cheesy af, I'm glad he was added and made the Doja/GD conflict a lot less stressful. When they made the announcement, not a single person in my group of 6 knew who he was lol.
I had the TV on last night and the news was on (I think it was ABC 7) and this story was one of the first thing they went with, they made it seem like a huge deal. I'm not a K Pop fan but if you would have told me that 20 years ago you saw Justin Timberlake's first solo show when he was still a part of N Sync I would thing it's pretty rad.
BTS is interesting in that they are massive as a group but they don't actually promote their (many) solo projects much outside of their already existing fanbase, so their name recognition as solo artists isn't quite as big. Every member of the rap line has multiple solo albums and collabs, and j-hope's is actually probably of the ones who got the most mainstream attention with his "Chicken Noodle Soup" remake with Becky G, but most people aren't going to know his name. It seems like the time of the solo projects being kind of under the radar is changing though!
I dont know anything about the BTS lore, but I would say it is a smart move to book him as it will move tickets with a crowd that usually wont go to Lolla or festivals in general. It seems GA+ tickets for Sunday are sold out and I guess Sunday will eventually be sold out. I saw a video of him performing and not my cup of tea, so Im glad I will be able to see Green Day without conflicts.
