With what’s about to be announced and a ban likely in effect till may 1st I don’t see us getting a lineup or ticket sales till may
For Illinois and Chicago effective immediately All pro sporting events to either be cancelled or played with no fans until may 1st. events with 250 or more people canceled or postponed till may 1st. By the way, our governor said this today. All Large Summer Events Should Be Canceled, Pritzker Says Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
I'm conflicted. I can't see us under these strict restrictions all the way until August, but my theory is they don't want this to jump back up above the capacity of our hospitals like it is now, so they will restrict all big events but allow other gatherings (i.e. hanging with friends, smaller venues open, bars and restaurants open, etc.)
That’s my assumption too. Festivals bring in too many people from other places. I don’t think we’ll see any this year.
Just on a purely curious level, if this ends up cancelled, I would be interested in seeing the lineup. I can't see them postponing the same lineup until next year (would be nearly impossible to get a lot of the acts), but I would be down to see who would have been there this year.
That’s my assumption, too. We can’t have people traveling to be in large groups like a festival this summer. There is the possibility of there being more outbreaks all summer.
Grant Park Music Festival cancels 2020 summer season This includes the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the free shows they host at Millenium Park on Mondays and Thursdays. I would say this is a good sign that Lolla is getting cancelled soon, if smaller attended outdoor summer shows are being cancelled.
Definitely. I just looked up the dates for this, and it was between June 12 and August 17. Lolla falls within that.
