The heavy guitars are REALLY fuzzy. Interesting choice. They definitely went with a different mix compared to ILIIAITE.

 

Damn, great first listen, gotta go back and spin the other LP. Haven't spun it in forever.

 

Yeah this is really incredible, head and shoulders past every band in their niche rn

 

This is all over the place in the best way possible. Feels like a smoother mix of the harsh/clean vocals than they’ve done before. That groove switch up halfway through is nasty stuff.

 

Also: Sean Radcliffe easily one of the very very best drummers in heavy music right now, dude is an absolute surgeon with these displaced/syncopated rhythms

As soon as I saw the runtime I suspected it was going to be one of these throw-enough-shit-at-the-wall songs. Deathly bored of this sort of thing.

Loses all its joy and momentum after about 1:15.

 

Such a sick song

 

Strongly disagree, to me this song is way too well-constructed to be just “throwing shit at the wall”. It feels extremely purposeful in its progression between the different sections.

 

the mix on this is incredible. really captures how it sounded live but with some necessary clarity in the vocals. really curious to hear how the rest of the album sounds

 

Seems like they mainly did all the recording and engineering themselves, very cool.

 

I like it. Not sure how I feel about the guitar tone though.

 

I’m surprised at the comments about the guitars honestly—I think this whole song just sounds awesome

 

I love when a band repurposes the same riff from earlier in a song in a different rhythmic context so that beat flip halfway through really scratches my brain just right

that’s also why I don’t really understand people who are saying this song feels disjointed, it’s basically two parts played at different dynamic levels. It’s very dense yes but absolutely meticulous and intentional

 

that guitar tone is absolutely filthy
