Look I’ve been meaning to ask why this thread even exists if everyone is just shitting on what she’s doing lol

 

Any thread for any artist is to discuss their music, it's not always going to be rainbows and butterflies

 

I think most of us in here did at one point like her, I loved Cuz I Love You

 

i liked her too! my wife and i saw her in dallas for our anniversary

i've just lurked and for a long while it was just "wow look at this annoying thing lizzo did or said" which feels silly lol

 

I'm just posting Lizzo things in the Lizzo thread, I don't make her marketing decisions for her

 

Also it wasn't a thread to just harp on her, the thread was made back when her second album was dropping. It just so happens she's been doing fuck all for her goodwill since then lol, and I am a little fascinated to see how she can't seem to even get a musical footing anymore post all the mess

 

Also by second album I totally meant second since breaking into the mainstream and not that I don't know why I said second album lol

 

It’s compromise that moves us along

 

She can make all the excuses she wants, she can blame on the lawsuit or streaming. But the reality is, outside of About Damn Time, that last album Special was really bad and people completely lost interest. She came out with those two comeback singles last year and they werent interesting at all and now people have moved on.

 

Boy it's not going well for anyone associated with Lizzo huh

 

The Lizzo Curse

 

I’d argue the lawsuit (and her shit handling of the whole situation) was far more damaging.

 

She was on an arena tour in 2022 for Special. She still had popularity and general goodwill then, and had a hit from this album with "About Damn Time". Now...I don't think she could do an arena tour. I don't really know what her popularity level is these days.
