Have the singles for this new album cycle been hitting the charts more than the ones from her scrapped album? Feel like they haven't been doing much better, but I guess she does have an actual tracklist out so it's coming out regardless lol
neither track from the scrapped album, nor either of the singles for this album, have charted on any charts
I feel like she's going to be dropped by the label after this album. They have been spending SO much time and money on marketing and PR, she really has been everywhere lately and unavoidable, but her new music isn't performing. The campaign likely is going to be a pretty big failure on the money side of things and I can't imagine she stays on a major after this.
not that I love it, but I think I might like it more than anything she's released since the last album. Maybe because it's for a movie soundtrack, she sounds less obsessed with whatever she's doing on these album tracks
I had no idea this was coming out tomorrow. I havent heard a damn peep about it since that first single dropped. Her drop off in cultural relevance needs to be studied. Probably a harder fall than Chance The Rapper took?
Her drop-off is way more substantial. Chance never had big hits, just mainly features on songs and hype from blogs and such. He also seems to be content with where he’s landed. Lizzo had hits and a consistent clip of them from her albums. Now that she’s irrelevant, she seems to be lashing out against that, even though she’s still getting booked. I mean She was just on that Kevin Hart roast.
The opening line on this album is "I hope it makes you happy to hurt somebody else" and that sums it all up. There are a couple moments that veer toward being fun again, but they are basically the only time she isn't talking about herself, and those are the most fun. Even those though, are a far cry from what she used to be
Yea I went through a list of album releases this week, there's a ton I'm interested in, and I got to Lizzo and went OOP, totally forget this was also today
Ah yes, because the radio was really taking over the waves from streaming pre-2023. And coincidentally her last album was 2022, SURELY that's not a reason she happened to pick out the last 3 years specifically. Album seems to not be hitting for critics, super curious how first week numbers look like
