Yeah, I think her team was waiting for it to clear up a bit but it's just getting worse

 

She’s done. This shit is messed up and you better believe the conservative media is licking their chops getting ready to hammer her due to her outspokenness on issues they disagree on.

They love nothing more than tearing down a POC.

 

Sucks that people who hated on her for all the wrong reasons can feel vindicated by this / celebrate. But it also sucks that she sucks.

 

It kind of reminds of what someone who worked with JVN on Queer Eye said that even though positivity and inclusiveness is their brand, they are extremely self centered and don’t care about other people (Thankfully, no issues with harassment or anything like Lizzo is facing.) It always makes me skeptical when someone adopts non-stop positivity as their entire persona.

I saw JVN do standup once and it was incredibly narcissistic, but thankfully the opener was a cool new comedian who would go on to big things

So hard to know what to believe these days.

The fact it's multiple people who have spoken out against Lizzo makes me lean towards them.

Whichever way it ends up, it's messy.

 

It's not just the dancers, it's not just her former creative director, it's also a female POC that walked away from her documentary because of her. Doubling down on her own brand and image in that statement makes me feel very confident that she is, in fact, the villain in this specific scenario

 

FWIW too her touring dj changed her instagram bio from “lizzos dj” to just “dj” and I think I noticed she changed it a few weeks ago or so, she has been doing a lot of side projects but idk just a lil sus

 

I dunno, the way that her statement takes no accountability and paints herself as totally innocent, makes her come off as guilty

 

Or maybe guilty is too strong a word. But if a dozen people are coming forward saying you're a shitty person, and you're calling them all liars and you're so great, it just lacks total self awareness.

Until yesterday I thought she’d be done but seeing the amount of support she’s getting and so many celebs showing their ass by joining her side (which is understandable too) is making me reconsider my stance. I feel like this is only going to get messier and she’ll use every single opportunity to play the victim and keep manipulating everyone (and, sadly, I believe it will work in her favor, gosh I really have no faith)
