This should win Best Adapted Screenplay. The entire structure of the story was perfect.

This was perfect. Also, it’s official. I’m running to a theater whenever Florence Pugh is in a movie now. Where’d this girl come from?

Think I might go see this by myself tomorrow night, as I crave really good cinema, and this seems like a really good film, but not one I can see bringing anybody else to, haha.

It sucks that people I know that like movies are like “OhH LiTtLe WoMeN. BeT ThAt’S GoOd.” And are taken aback when you say it’s great, but will give full throated defenses to movies like Joker or Avengers: Endgame.

The girls weren't smoll at all, but seriously I have no clue how old any character was supposed to be, did Laura Dern say 39 years experience
I hope Greta Gerwig keeps making movies about Saoirse Ronan going to New York
When Jo was complaining about her haircut all I could think was she looked like Carly Rae Jepsen
It was weird seeing Laura Dern and Amma being pure
I loved Florence's mean horny energy
I love how subtle and good Greta is about incorporating gender and class
Did Laura Dern apologize to the one black character about slavery this movie was a fever dream, but I don't fault individual directors for having white casts

Wow, this was absolutely sublime to watch. I loved every single thing about this; the characters, the acting, the heart, the warmth, the emotions, everything. Probably my favorite scene is all the characters on the beach; it truly felt like I was watching a painting come to life. Truthfully it felt like Greta made the film as if everything you saw on screen is what you'd imagine in your head as you read the book. Most visually stunning shot was Jo and Laurie as they crossed the crest of the hill and overlooked the valley of wherever they were, with the trees in various stage of fall colors, with the church peeking out from said trees, and then as Laurie walks off and Jo sits down in the grass and slumps her head down, with the valley spreading out before her. And this movie should do wonders for young women who watch it, of wanting to go your own way and dealing with, and overcoming, the struggles that come along with it. Seeing Jo with her book in her hands at the end, then seeing the imagery in her thoughts of the little girls play acting that scene of Jo and her sisters dancing around upstairs in their house. Uggghhhhh - film making at it's finest

Just the most enjoyable cinematic experience

And the costume and production design in this as well, superb.

Saoirse I think deserves a Best Actress Oscar nod

  21. Saoirse definitely deserve a nom and will probably get one. Streep will probably get one too cause its Streep. Greta deserves one for writing for sure. Probably directing.

I'm not sure about Saoirse just because best actress has a lot of contenders this year (Scarlett, Charlize, Renee, Lupita, Cynthia Erivo, Alfre Woodward)
people seem to think Florence may get a nom best supporting which I guess would be like when Alicia was nominated for Danish Girl the same year as Ex Machina but obviously this is a good movie and not made by Tom Hooper lol

Saul Goodman showing up halfway through the movie to say the title of the movie was one of the funniest film moments of the year.

I also loved how Greta contrasted childhood, with it's golden glow and bright colors, with adulthood, and it's dark and muted grey color palette
