I am 100% happy it is a pure heavy track. They don't really have much of those even though his voice is perfect for it. With One More Light, we have so much pop and soft songs, this helps balance out their discography a bit more IMO
I got the urge to go their this discography again and man, what one they have. Just got them going on shuffle. Sharp Edges, Blackout, Waiting for the End, A Place for My Head, Final Masquerade, Mark the Graves, Nobody Can Save Me Now......so many fantastic songs.
MTM may be one of their weaker albums, but man, that whole bridge to ending part of In Pieces is so great. Edit: And all of The Little Things Give You Away is amazing too.
I have to say I actually really like One More Light. The record has some really great songs, albeit a different sound than what I expected them to put out for that record
I hate to admit I hated on that album until Chester died. I went back and saw it in a whole new light
Jamming MTM now thanks to the thread bump. "Shadow Of The Day" is so good, despite (or maybe because), it is basically a U2 song.
Took the words out of my mouth my dude! I've grown on it so much. Song for song, it really is a great album.
I don't think the rest of the song matches the opening, bridge or outro. It feels like they had a good idea for those parts and kinda on auto pilot for the rest to me.
I never went through all their Underground releases where they dropped demos and randoms, but I remember coming across this and laughing for a whole day when I did.
I'm pretty sure I have it on a hard drive somewhere. There was a time when I downloaded a whole archive of their stuff, but I never got around to listening through it all. Also wow, that cover art is really something lol
Me and my best friend from Ohio have a running joke of texting eachother lyrics from that song especially that part every Valentine’s Day since that album came out
Hella late reply, but speaking of underrated classics, Valentine's Day is a damn good song and totally not given its due.
Honestly the transition from the speech to the beat on Wretches and Kings gets my pumped. Wish I could have seen that one live.
Mike Shinoda released two bSides from POst Traumatic. One of them is SUPER dark. It’s about the lyrics to the Linkin Park songs Chester wrote and how mike didn’t realize what they meant and all the pain he feels now knowing but realizing only people who been there can understand them
