I didn't give it a chance before his death because of how poppy I heard it was, so I can't speak to it. Like I said it's my least favorite of their albums; but it has some good songs.
It's definitely gained sort of a new life for me, which sounds silly to say since it hasn't even been out for three months, but I've found myself coming back to it more.
I was already a fan of it but I think that's was mainly because of my fanboyisn for LP. I definitely hold it to a higher regard now though, seeing how personal the lyrical content of most of the songs really was. Wish it didn't take Chesters death for me to realize it is all.
Alright I will leave the polls open a little longer, see if we can't get A few more votes. After that we move on to the final four of One More Light!
Ok everyone, it's time to move on to the next round as this round has been open for 17 hours. Some close tight matches this round but we have our winners who will advance to the final four of One More Light. These are the final scores of round 2: Heavy-10 Nobody Can Save Me-8 Halfway Right-11 Good Goodbye- 7 One More Light-16 Talking To Myself-2 Invisible-10 Sharp Edges-8 This sees Heavy, Halfway Right, One More Light and Invisible move on. Let's get round 3 started and decide who will face off in the championship! ONE MORE LIGHT ROUND UP ROUND 3 -- Heavy Vs. Halfway Right One More Light Vs. Invisible -- Begin, and let's keep this charity bracket going and stronger!
Heavy Invisible Both choices were pretty difficult! Heavy probably is like my fourth or fifth favorite song on the album, but it hasn't matched up against one of my favorites yet. The One More Light vs. Invisible matchup was really tough. Those are my two favorites on the album. I wouldn't be upset at the outcome either way. I think that overall I enjoy Invisible more, but the lyrics of One More Light give that song a lot of depth. I'm enjoying my deep dive into this album!
I agree, I think the chance of what is matched up with what plays a huge part. I didn't think Heavy would get this far and I'm so surprised Good Goodbye and Nobody Can Save Me lost in their first match up, but like you said it's all about what it goes up against.
I know people have said they can't wait to get to the stretch of Minutes to Midnight through Hybrid Theory, but I can't wait to get to the stretch of Hunting Party through A Thousand Suns.
The way I look at it though is if the song is really that good it'll still come out on top at the end despite what it went against. Sure som great songs may lose earlier, but they probably would have lost later to whatever wins out
