Yeah that's why I didn't say it definitely cause I was unsure. I felt like I remembered their popularity being its biggest on Meteora and guessed off that. I remember the singles being played for YEARS it seemed.
It'd be pretty convenient if there was a Brackets thread which just had an updated front post of all brackets, showcasing previous winners and any currently open ones. Just a suggestion though, as it's a bit hard to keep on top of what's running (especially when posts get piled with other topics). I assume it's just Brand New & Linkin Park, open atm?
i think every time i die just started. silverstein coming up after LP; not sure what else is brewing.
a About it being dead last? Album rocks all the way through and has a ton of quality songs. Its more consistant than MTM, OML and LT which is very top heavy. No way.
I don't agree, but I could see a case made against LT and OML. More consistent than MTM though? Blasphemy!
the M2M bracket reminded me there's lots of quality songs on it but stylistically it's all over the place.
Yeah I know, everyone on this site mostly loves MTM and holds it in the upmost regards. I like a most the songs on it, but have already stated on here how inconsistent it is. All softies with 2 rockers and one rap song thrown in randomly. No flow.
I feel like The Hunting Party feels like a bunch of b-sides. To me it flows like an odd and ends type record. Obviously that's just my opinion. Still love you @Davjs
MTM was when they were breaking out of their mold, so they went in a bunch of different directions with their sound. It's maybe inconsistent in tone or flow, but I'd say it's consistent in terms of quality. It's a great album.
Can't argue that! It'll always just have a little bit of history of disappointment with me since coming off Metora, I was like "what is this? Their only real heavy track has key jingles in it?". I love all the songs now minus Val Day and In Between but it took a bit for me to come around. Every other LP album I fell in love right off the bat.
I pretty much had the same initial reaction as you when the album came out. I came to my senses eventually ha. I love Valentine's Day, but ya I usually skip In Between. Though, I like Mike's singing voice a lot now.
Have to say I've really enjoyed checking this thread everyday. I love a good music debate with awesome people!
On the whole "MTM doesn't have a flow", that was very deliberate. They talked about how they liked the whiplash of Given Up, Leave Out All The Rest, Bleed It Out, Shadow Of The Day starting off the album. They're pretty different genres, but the albums flows mostly in terms of tone.
Also I'd love to see some more brackets specifically a Rise Against one or AFI although I do wonder if there'd be as many interested.
