ugh all 4 of these are solid but unremarkable songs. leave out all the rest/shadow of the day/ waiting for the end and iridescent are all the same song to me. and speaking of repetitive, how about catalyst...

This is such an awful take I don't even really know where to begin

 

Whoa, take that UN off the front of that and throw it away! I do love their LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent medley they used to play live. Songs are sotra too samey to play all three with an 18 song set.

for what it's worth i think catalyst is one of their most epic sounding songs, but it doesn't need to be as long as it is. as for the rest, i did say they're solid :P

 

I do like The Catalyst but it is very repetitive and nowhere near as good as Waiting For the End

This is just like Spin beating My Blue Heaven. Makes no sense

 

Yeah, but, like, I don't see how someone can look at Leave Out All The Rest and Waiting For The End and say "These are basically the same song"

i mean, i'm just going off how i associate them in my head. i remember them all as slow-ish/mid tempo soft rock songs with similar choruses. i think you could take verses and various parts and swap them in and out and not notice too much lol

also, i realize that's not very specific and could apply to lots of things, but such is how the mind works

 

I mean, fair play, the songs are just so distinct to me, mentioning LOATR, SOTD, and WFTE as similar songs when the whole WID/ND/BITS thing exists was just really shocking to me

 

oh i completely agree with those too haha. i'd be willing to revise my statement and say SOTD and LOATR are basically the same song, with WFTE just similar.
