Have to say, the studio version of the new song is pretty rad. I can see why they chose her after listening to it as there's some Chester vibes going on when she screams.
Joining the conversation late and didn’t listen to the live stream. Don’t know how much I care about that right now? The new song sounds good to me. Very much so just a Linkin Park song, but with a different voice filling the role Chester would’ve. Which is what I expected. A voice that, imo, is close enough to their past to fit well, but just different enough to not bother me. I like that they waited for the second verse for her to kick in, giving me a chance to get into the LP headspace. I’m curious what the whole album is like, and tentatively excited. Don’t feel I know enough about the singer’s messy shit to comment on it. Will be bummed if, when I see more, it sours me on everything, since this is otherwise exciting to me.
Song is pretty standard post-meteora alt/radio rock LP fare - not very exciting but catchy and palatable. I dig the chorus. Idk anything about the vocalist but I think this release/intro to her is pretty sick and I like her voice with the band. I’d gotten pretty disillusioned with the band with/after 1,000 suns so I gotta say this has me more excited about new LP for the first time in a loooong time.
Yeah but it's worse this time because, and my memory may be blurry because I was literally a toddler when I first heard In The End on the radio back in the day, but they always had a clean cut image and were free of controversies (unless I'm forgetting about something). Emily with those skeletons in her closet adds a huge contrast to that, at least to the dozens of us who are aware of it... so far. That said, I thought the concert sounded better as it went on and I like the studio version as well. The little bits about the album's direction should be enough to make me go "fuck yeah" as well... but uh, I don't remember approaching a band's return with more caution.
Looks like he played in this band which sounds very familiar. May have been posted on ap.net at the time
I just woke up so I missed the livestream but the song is good imo. in the same vein largely as Mike's recent stuff like In My Head and Open Doors and I like those songs so it's cool, but definitely hoping there's a bit more out there stuff on the album. hard to fully get into the hype with a scientology sized question mark hanging over things so that's a shame
you know the song i was talking about! could've used your help earlier but apparently you were asleep
I was actually the power socket on the wall, sorry if that wasn't clear ...anyway Linkin Park new song good! I'm liking it more and more every listen. really miss Rob on the kit though I gotta say
