Bummer about the problematic past. Can see voice wise why they chose her. Without hearing anything else it sounds like she’s straining her voice a lot. Did like Mike saying the crowd was “filling the role of Chester”. Was interested to see what he would or wouldn’t say.
Yeah. I still feel weird about it all. Obviously it's the bands decision, but it feels a little odd to me if they put out an album with a new vocalist in place of Chester. I thought it might be more of a Queen + Adam Lambert deal.
Very the first two albums heavy so far. Not sure how I feel, very uncanny valley as others have said.
If you're missing three members, it's a little odd to still call yourselves Linkin Park. I understand why, I just don't really like it.
She does the Chester screamy vocals pretty well. Can’t think of anyone else who’d been a better singer for this. But it really just makes me miss Chester even more.
Doesn’t help she’s screaming parts that don’t need to be screamed lol. She’ll probably tone it down on future performances… I hope
I don't know enough of her back catalogue to know how far removed the vocal style is for her. It sounds like she's doing her impression of Chester on the screaming parts, which sounds a bit unnatural and forced. Kind of can't win either way, so I get why she'd try to at least imitate a bit.
Look....the guys from Linkin Park are entitled to continuing their legacy and if people are into this, all power to em. As someone who was 16 when Hybrid Theory came out and got to see LP multiple times over the years, this isn't something that I'm interested in as Chester was such an integral part to their sound. Seems like plenty of other people will be into this, at least the first round, so hopefully it goes well.
