Yeah it's a good point. Some of these songs sound better unplugged. It's like the production was missing the particular Linkin Park touch and felt more like Mike trying to emulate what was popular at the time. I remain conflicted on this.

 

It's tough because I'm torn between being excited to their return and so apprehensive because Emily's ties to scientology and especially Danny Masterson are like totally unknown. Nervous about how the band will handle it if it comes to light and more people in the fanbase starts to be aware of it. This is a huge mess waiting to happen.

 

I really hope these rumours above aren’t true. I checked Reddit and apparently there’s a lot of fakes going around.

 

I think because one of the main things about Scientology is the secrecy and coverups, plus the fact that she isn't THAT extremely well known, adds up to it being pretty easily unknown. Definitely will be interesting to see if anything comes of it if she's the new vocalist. At the very least, Cedric (The Mars Volta) certainly will be posting about her

Like I said, it's tough because it's not something that has really come to light (scientology and burying stuff goes hand in hand) and if it wasn't for Cedric from The Mars Volta calling her out, I doubt anyone on here would be aware.

Yeah, I was referring to the Masterson stuff. I've seen a couple things referencing her being part of Scientology from around 10-11 years ago but nothing since. Looking at the accountability thread, I'm now seeing the IG comment that was left by Cedric.

I'll always wait for something a bit more concrete than an accusation in an Instagram post but it's certainly something to keep an eye on. When she's announced as the new singer for Linkin Park, anything bad that could possibly come out will pretty quickly.

I heard a leaked snippet on YouTube and vk but some comments said it was AI generated.

 

The post calling Emily out for her past on the LP Reddit looks like it was locked in record time ha. Really hope they don’t try to just power through and ignore the valid criticism.

I brought it up in the lp discord a couple days ago and within seconds my comment was deleted

 

You would think in this day and age, especially for a band as enormous as LP, their team would do an insane amount of due diligence before announcing a new singer.

But...maybe they didn't?

Or worse, maybe they don't care?

 

I'd be shocked given Mike's public persona over the years if it was a matter of not caring, but who knows
