Really sad hearing Chester on this song given how his life ended. Good song and surprised this was never released during the era.
Song's good. I can see why it wasn't an album track, something about it has "Linkin Park b-side" energy, but it's a very good b-side that takes me back to that era. Especially nice (but melancholy) to hear in a post-Chester world. Also mostly really dig the video. The stylized sequences with the band are uneven and don't quite hit right, but everything else is stunning, and it all flows together well.
I could tell there was some rotoscope stuff happening there and wasn't sure if it was fully archive footage or what. Sometimes I really dig a good rotoscope. But, for some reason, the direction taken here feels off here and there. Maybe it's the specific blend of realistic and anime that they went for?
It's AI generated, how much of that I don't know but it may explain the inconsistencies in the styles and designs. I was disappointed to find out tbh
Really enjoyed the song. There's an interview with Mike on KROQ where he said they chose Numb over Lost. They had like 20 something songs and 13 on the album, Lost was 14.
He said other than touring, nothing is off the table for them as far as what they'll do to celebrate the anniversary tho. Maybe a show with friends or something is down the line.
I preordered the $89 vinyl set from LP's site. Then not 2 mins after I saw it on Brooklyvegan and its like $23 cheaper after shipping and taxes. () Trying to cancel orig order so I can rebuy. I should have been more patient!
I always thought Meteora felt a bit ... unfinished, after the pointless short intro and 'Session' that's barely 11 songs, and so many are so short. Very intrigued to hear what else they opted to leave off the final record.
He was saying they tried hard to not add too many songs that sounded like they could've been on Hybrid Theory. I'm assuming a bunch probably fit that mold and that's why they got left off. Very interested in it tho.
11 songs and an instrumental, at 36 minutes and change, is a good album length. Really doesn’t feel like it’s missing anything. I certainly don’t think this newly released track, as much as I liked listening to it today, should’ve been on the main album.
Lost is currently 2 on iTunes all genres and number one on the alternative charts Meteora, hybrid theory, and minutes to midnight are also currently charting in the top 200 for all genres
I don't think an artist since 2000 has had more of an impact on a generation than them. Got a little choked last night going thru their LPTV videos. Chester was really the first celebrity I'd knew of that talked so openly about their mental health. Miss him.
I still remember the day he died. We found out pretty much right when TMZ leaked it, and those couple hours where we were trying to get any answer from someone in the LP camp were brutal.
I still remember that day like it was yesterday too. I was working overnights at the time and woke up at like 3 pm to a bunch of texts and Facebook messages and couldn’t believe what I was reading. That weekend and following week sucked. Lp got me through so much in the early 2000s
I really didn't expect to like this so much. It's a really good song. Hearing Chester was really, really interesting. Sad and yet powerful.
That’s not surprising at all re: streaming numbers. We forgetting they were probably the biggest rock band in the world for a while?
I for one was not expecting that. It’s absolutely l fantastic though. I don’t even watch reaction videos but I just watched some LP shared and the genuity behind them was felt. I can’t even begin to think about the amount of unreleased material these guys must have too. Dang.
Going to be completely honest - I'm glad Lost is getting such a great reception, and it's fantastic to hear Chester again, but it just ain't working for me, it's definitely a B-side.
