It's great but I wonder if its similarity to other tracks played in their decision to leave it off. It's very In The End / Pushing Me Away. I feel like it's missing a rap part as well.
This is massive and bigger then the 20 year anniversary super deluxe edition they put out for hybrid theory
I’m ready to hear these unreleased demos so bad. Hybrid Theory was different because I got into it after the album was already out. With Meteora I had the, what seemed like forever, buildup and anticipation for it as it was rolling out. As it will get closer to the end of March I usually get in a Meteora mood around then.
its midnight here so i'm throwing this shit on immediately and following it with new Paramore. what a day to be a music listener
oh this is so great. my kneejerk reaction is I would've been fine with this replacing "Easier to Run" or even a few others that bridge-final chorus transition is so money
20 years ago, I borrowed this album from a friend and got expelled from school and never gave the cd back. 20 years later, I still have the cd and I got a job offer from the school I got expelled from. Time is weird.
I've come full circle with Meteora. I loved it as a... 11-12 year old when it came out? It was one of the first albums I really fell in love with front to back. Once I got older (and started playing guitar) I thought it was lame and the guitar parts were too simplistic, and thought I liked it when I was young so it wasn't good anymore. 31 year old me is listening and thinking, these guitar parts serve the exact purpose they need to, and the album sounds immaculate from a production standpoint. As timeless as early 2000s rock gets IMO. It'll sound a little odd, but I think the same age kids that gravitated to this in the early 2000s are the same type of kids that are gravitating to Turnstile right now. It's rare to see an intersection of aggression and accessibility for all ages. EDIT: I know they probably had an infinite budget, but I'm listening to this album for the first time through good speakers and not $10 earbuds, and it sounds so good, especially some unique percussion choices. Love the high pitched metal clinking that's keeping time in Figure.09 in particular.
I can see why this was cut since Numb and ETR would’ve been on the same album, but it’s pretty good. I’d take it over probably half of Meteora tbh
Lost is absolutely perfect from the song to the video. It could have easily been on the album for me. Hoping some of the other unreleased songs continue with the quality here as it's hitting me right in the nostalgia. Man, I really miss this era of music.
