If they decide to write and record brand new music, and also in at least some capacity perform live, then I can't imagine them returning with that kind of collaborations album. That'd be more believable if they had a partially finished album when Chester died (unlikely, since that was a couple months after One More Light), but as is... probably not? If they decided to continue as an "active" 5-piece band, they'd probably start by going into the studio and creating a full album of material with that line-up, which they could then play live alongside whatever reworked versions of past songs they wanted to work in. The other most likely outcome, imo, is pulling a Queen, where they collaborate with a specific artist in a "Linkin Park + [artist]" capacity. I'm gonna continue to assume the machine hasn't started up again until it's been clearly, publically announced, though!
countdown blue screen of death on the LP website (lol) is ticking down to Noon pacific time, so it's happening!
I figured they would have put the preorder back up by now. Wonder when the next announcement will be.
Definitely within the week. Someone who looked into the source code of the site said the puzzle will be done on Friday, so they'll probably announce the bundle then if that's the case
Longer snippet on Soundcloud: Really funny that LP fans called this song "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride" for 20 years since it was the only lyric anyone knew, and that part apparently isn't even in the song anymore
not sure how them doing a normal ass rollout is milking it lol. I'm very excited for this obviously, I honestly didn't know there were any full songs left that hadn't already leaked or come out through Underground
Some internet sleuths found this placeholder link for a deluxe vinyl reissue of Meteora: https://store.warnermusic.com/en/li...RuSbc4QQfQt7ZZqoOeAN5Zjp23KWOaPaQywnAlnl14PtQ
I'm pretty sure the announcement got delayed from when it was supposed to drop. They said there'd be news from the LP camp by the end of January and the website game was apparently really buggy/rushed. Wouldn't be surprised if the boxset was meant to be announced the day they accidentally posted it, but they had to push it back for some reason.
Only 5 more years until a Minutes To Midnight reissue. Love that album. Unless there is a 15 year reish...
