I’d agree that each prerelease song has been less than the one before so far… but I’ve personally liked them all. And, I think the order of the releases is really smart. First, a very quintessential and effective Linkin Park song; second, a traditional song with Mike rapping the verses and a yelling chorus/bridge; third, an all Emily song that, in isolation, feels the least like “a Linkin Park song.”
Heavy is the Crown is a great chorus looking for a great song. Emptiness Machine is REALLY good. Hoping for more like that on the record.
I didn't realise until now that From Zero is gonna be shortest LP album of their career at just over 31mins!
Am I just turned out or has the buzz died down and there's not much excitement for an album out next week
They played the League of Legends opening ceremony last week, and Over Each Other is sitting at 8.7m views on YouTube. I don't think the crazy hype of their reunion was sustainable, but I think the album will do pretty well.
I would think a band like theirs that caters strongly to people with mental health issues or compassionate folks may just be victims of taking a break from the internet for a lot of this week. I have essentially put my phone in my room and tried to disconnect from news and any non-real interactions as I sought out connection with friends the last few days. Obviously anecdotal but probably not the only one doing that. Not spending a ton of time on social networks or streaming services owned by Goebbels wet dreamers talking about the new record. Truly, without the safe haven of Chorus, I wouldn’t have a single place online to share the excitement. Then again, there are surely carloads of miserable fucking asshole MAGA people that listen to them, just as they listen to RATM without irony. But they aren’t the kind of people who are gonna appreciate art for arts sake. They may notice a new song appears on a playlist. But they’re not emotionally invested in it. Otherwise they wouldn’t hold the views they do.
I also think they're just not THAT big in the US anymore, especially compared to overseas. The Dallas show only sold about 70% of the tickets, while Brazil and France stadiums sold out instantly
Still seeing much hype outside of this forum. Living in France, over here they're exposed in a way I hadn't seen since the Living Things days, or even earlier. They're playing sold out shows at the moment, with rumors of their Summer 2025 dates being the most popular posts on music pages. Clips of their sets continue to be shared on social media with tons of views (and discourse in the comments, which also helps). The Emptiness Machine and Over Each Other get played a lot anytime I have to put on the radio as well.
Yea they're absolutely still gonna be massive and the album is probably going to easily debut at #1 I still haven't listened to any of the singles and am still skeeved off from the Scientology stuff but I'm not gonna delude myself into thinking they aren't gonna make BANK from this album cycle lol
It’s 120kbs for the unreleased songs and 320 for the singles already out. That’s absolutely dog shit. Someone prolly ripped it from the listening parties that had over the weekend
It’s actually just 4 days away. (Closer to 3 if you’re one of those freaks who uses VPNs or whatever to get albums a day earlier.) I promise that waiting that short time so your first listen will be better quality will be worth it, lol. There’s plenty of other music out there to listen to.
