Not LP but Chester’s other project. He wrote this song for his marriage with Talinda. I read somewhere that she had asked him to write a song they could dance to
Dead by Sunrise had so much unrealized potential. Bringing in Howard Benson to "polish up" the album was a huge mistake IMO. The demo versions of those songs that leaked a couple years back rip
I got the Dead By Sunrise vinyl (with bonus tracks including Morning After!) for record store day and I’m still emo about it
That's crazy!! Selling out 2 nights in Brazil and one night in France, I wonder how Texas is selling at the moment?
Yikes! I wonder what made them pick a stadium in Dallas while picking arenas in NYC and LA. Seems like the reverse would've worked better.
Stadium availability/Time of year and weather prolly had something to do with it. the Mets where home the day of the nyc show. And citi field is the only baseball stadium in nyc that holds concerts on a regular basis. Don’t think the Yankees hold much of anything concert wise playing outside at a baseball stadium in nyc in November is prolly a bit too cold
I feel like Dallas is a major market for them tho. I do think Chicago, Boston and nyc will be baseball stadiums next year
Saw Linkin Park at a KROQ fest in like 2009? And mid set Chester brought out dead by sunrise to play a few songs and it was such a buzzkill lol
I would consider LA, NY, and Chicago their truly major markets in the US. Dallas, Phoenix, Tampa etc. are markets that they're big in, but not necessarily "for sure sell out a stadium" big IMO
I mean, bands tour with member side projects all the time without an issue, if they're mature, functioning adults.
It was 3 songs for one of two encores. Very reasonable way of handling it considering the album was coming out in the middle of LP promoting New Divide/working on ATS and DBS didn't have much of an opportunity to properly tour
if this is through ticketmaster/livenation, they (not the band) are tryin to reap the sweet sweet dollars.
not sure who still cares about this, but I’ve seen some recent stuff that suggests that Emily is no longer an active member of Scientology her latest photoshoot posted to Instagram was taken by Brian Bowen Smith, who shot the cover of Leah Remini’s book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. Brian’s partner, Shea, also posted a photo of her son and Emily this month with the caption “family time.” Emily and Mike also alluded to Shea being a mother figure to Emily/the relationship with her own mother might be complicated in their podcast this week That is a relationship the “church” would not approve of, as Leah Remini is referred to as a “suppressive person” I’ve also seen that Emily has only completed one Scientology course - and that was all the way back in 2007 a prominent YouTuber and ex Scientologist (Aaron Smith-Levin) also recently said that her involvement with the “church” was light, if at all. He also said that she could be a victim of growing up within Scientology, which adds up with her parents being high profile members and her childhood on the ranch (children of sea org members are separated from their families and doing child labor while they’re there) I don’t know if she’s left quietly or isn’t an active member anymore, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she did leave after the Masterson trial - let’s not forget that Scientologists aren’t allowed access to anything that shows criticism of the cult, and she could’ve found a lot while that trial was going on. She could have been questioning/rebelling from much earlier as a queer woman who’s written about mental illness - both things that Scientology discriminates against People who leave Scientology quietly aren’t targeted in the same way “suppressive people” who speak up about their experiences are. I understand that we’d all love a statement if she has left, but that would put her and everyone around her in danger, and cut off any relationship she still has with anyone in the “church”. That can be too much to sacrifice for many https://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/by-name/e/emily-armstrong.html
It's certainly compelling. It just sucks that we can't have a clear, full-throated answer about this.
Honestly unless more negative stuff comes out, that’s probably enough for me to feel comfortable about listening to this. I’m not going out and buying merch, records, or probably even seeing them live, so that makes it easier, but I’m definitely going to give the album a fair shake.
maybe it's true, and if so, i'm glad she got out, but unless she's done it privately (and if we're to believe what Cedric and Chrissie have said), i'm curious if she's taken any steps/accountability to apologize to the victims of Masterson she allegedly helped harass. and iirc, wasn't she also seen still hanging out with Bijou Phillips shortly after the allegations dropped? is she still a Scientologist? i don't wanna write-off the chance that she got out because some of this evidence is interesting for sure (assuming the website on course-taking statistics is accurate), but i just don't know if we have enough concrete information to suggest that she did. i'm still planning to listen to the album, but my interest in this version of the band (which has all the potential to be exciting) has been very minimal after the initial news broke re: her and Masterson.
