i've wondered too if she's left. that doesn't absolve her of any shit she allegedly did in that post, but it's better than her being actively involved.

 

A statement from her instead of simply deleting comments would be nice. I won't just assume she's left based on nothing

I'm not assuming either, and it looks like the post is making the rounds on the band Reddit at least so hopefully it's only a matter of time before something happens.

Oh interesting, earlier today the linkinpark mods were deleting anything about it

 

my initial assumption was that they wanted to shoot down any speculation about a frontwoman until the band announced it, but if they were keeping up some posts about Emily, maybe they just didn't want any negative attention on everything beforehand, which is obviously fucking stupid.

 

Man according to that Billboard article, they started working with Emily in 2019!? At the time, they'd do sessions with different people and weren't sure if these were for a new iteration of Linkin Park. Makes me less hopeful about the guys or her saying anything about *gestures at everything* if they've been building to this comeback with her for this long.

 

This isn't to absolve them of anything, but would they have even known? We just went over in the other thread about how if Cedric's post hadn't been grabbed then we probably wouldn't have even known.

 

Oh sure, I was more thinking in a what could've been manner. Like who else, less controversial, they were testing stuff with during those years before they settled on her for good.

 

Not saying it is the right thing to do, but the thought from her staying silent all this time I imagine is that if it isn't a story that has much traction anywhere, bringing it to light with a statement would probably do more harm than good even if it is a good statement. But I imagine now that she's gonna have a bigger spotlight it'll need to be addressed at some point.

on another note, I like the new song and she sounded pretty damn good in the livestream. Obviously no one can match Chester's voice, but it definitely seems like she's a good fit.

Really like the song. It’s fairly safe but a good intro to this era IMO

Yeah every post on r/Music about the song/video/announcement had a comment about the Scientology ties being the top comment.
