by "from them" i meant either individually or collectively (seeing as that she's part of the band now)
At this point unless it really affects them going forward, I can see Mike staying willfully ignorant or cowardly silent, especially since he already made the choice of having the time to praise Emily but staying silent to the controversy.
Ngl, I’d be pretty disappointed if the band doesn’t make a post to address things prior to their show on Wednesday
with the album announced and tour dates booked, i think the chances of them dropping her are about as high as the chances of oasis reunit… oh wait (no but seriously i would be legitimately shocked if anything comes of this. way too much money and pride on the line)
Wishing desperately this is the timeline where this is just a long plot by Linkin Park to fight scientology with the power of music.
It's definitely silly of anyone to think they are going to kick her out right after joining with a new album and worldwide tour already planned out. way too much invested into it I think it'll have to be addressed by them at some point, whether it be a more generic statement or something more robust. I'm starting to lean toward thinking they knew all this stuff about her already before going through with it but either didn't care/didn't think it would become a big deal or they got their assurances from Emily that that isn't really the person that she is and it doesn't speak to her character now. Obviously would hope the latter but maybe that's just too much wishful thinking
I’m sure they knew she was a Scientologist, but I doubt they had any idea about her intimidating victims. That’s a PR nightmare, no way their management would’ve given the thumbs up.
Umm intimidating victims is what Scientology is most known for. It would be incredibly naive/ignorant to know she is a a member of the cult without doing any more investigation. This is either an incredible botch by the PR team or the other members of the band just give no fucks and didn’t care. Either way the silence is extremely disappointing the longer it goes.
I read this theory somewhere and this is just me throwing it out here for shits and giggles, but apparently the scientology practice of auditing involves a device called an E meter, so someone speculated "What if the "emptiness machine" is the E meter?" God, I wish we lived in that world.
Lol. I used to think it stood for emotion meter cuz they're that corny but turns out it's some long ass "scientific" word.
Sadly it sounds like they are the emptiness machine, a big corporate brand with bankrupt morals. It's gonna be funny seeing Mike singing his political lyrics with no spine. Now I wish they didn't come back. At least for nostalgia sake I would have caught Hybrid Theory (cover band)
In one of the new interviews (maybe kroq?) Mike said something like emptiness machine was a song they already had and after having worked with her for a while on other music sent her the song and the lyrics and asked her to sing on it but he also talked about her writing for the album, who knows
So…I didn’t know anything about Jaime Bennington until today’s posts and a few articles online posted today but I just stumbled upon his Instagram and he seems…very unhinged. He had dozens of Instagram stories from the past 4-5 hours - essentially begging the band or fans to let him go to the show in LA this week and then talks about needing to see it since it will be “Linkin Park’s last show ever.” Everything about this Reunion has been very fucking weird and sad.
There’s not really any take you can have on this that warrants a video unless you have special insight not either Emily or Scientology which Melon simply doesn’t have
Especially considering the title of the video is extremely clickbait-y, regardless of your opinion on the whole situation. It seems like he's just spouting off what was said in articles and saying "It's not looking good". Seems like a waste of a video.
