I have no problem with pop, but it's gonna be hard for me to view Linkin Park as a pop band after all these years. It's certainly more of a jarring transition than say, Fall Out Boy. That's, of course, assuming this song isn't an anomaly on the record. All that said, it's a pretty solid pop song.
I'm glad I didn't switch it off as soon as I heard it. Otherwise I would never have known that my first impression was... completely right.
Those first few lyrics/sounds were sooo blah, that it's not something I'd be willing to sit through ever again, so no reason for me to bother with the rest. Kind of like me listening to playlists on Spotify; if I don't like the first 10 seconds or so of a track, I skip to the next one.
Hahaha sorry, I read your quote several times and it came off as you listened to it and were glad you kept listening to it. Just lost in translation
It's OK. I'm not sure what I want Linkin Park to do, or be, at this point.. I will say that I think they do a good job of challenging themselves and pushing themselves out of boundaries people try and place on them. So for that, I have a good amount of respect for them.
Nope. This has no lasting value. They listened to it in the studio over and over just making themselves believe it's a solid track.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaang. I've been really pleased with the trajectory of LP's career over the past two albums, but shucks. Where did this come from? It's identical to the trash that so many lesser and younger artists are releasing.
I feel like Linking Park are having hard time at this stage in their career. No longer is it early/mid 00's and their not young guys anymore. Navigating a musical identity as a 40 year old is a different journey then as a 25 year old.
This is the logical progression of the band that did Living Things. Unfortunately, Living Things was arse.
I like the song, and I'd bet good money that the whole album won't sound like this. It's a solid, poppy single.
