I'm 26, Chocolate Starfish was among a bag of CDs my cousin (formerly a skater who listened to numetal and punk in his teens) lent my brother and I when his tastes suddenly shifted. That was almost twenty years ago and that even kickstarted my passion for music considering those were the very first albums I dove into at the age of 6/7. I've kept my love for Limp Bizkit ever since, but my brother and some shared friends, who are 30, definitely fall into the "I now find their music embarassing" camp. It's interesting to consider their place in the current musical landscape and how their perception has evolved over the decades. I wouldn't be surprised if they're still attracting youger listeners as numetal got a resurgence lately, either close to its original form or within other subgenres (ie. numetalcore, trap metal). Or I imagine there are also those who didn't grow up during the original wave and are diving into it as part of them going through metal history. It's fun to think about all this.
Took a couple of listens to get into it. I was expecting something heavier I guess. But now I've got it on a loop.
haha hell yeah. My 7th and 8th grade yearbook pix has me sporting some sweet vintage LB shirts. Complete with the ball bearing necklace and spiked hair. We love to see it!
Listening now and I really like this so far The self-deprecating style is the kind of thing that could go wrong and seem self-indulgent but I think they've really nailed it Helps that Wes's riffs are some of his best EDIT: Less a fan of Snacky Poo, feels a joke song that was written in the 90s and should have stayed there
Goodbye definitely makes me feel like this could be their last album and if it is then I'm more than fine with that because they aren't topping this for me
if 'goodbye' was the first radio single off of results may vary, they would still be a major mainstream rock/nu metal band. never stopped lovin lb, and this album is fun as shit. wes has some nasty riffs in this thing. did i mention how fun this album is??
this part is so jock-jammy hahaha Woo! Damn, got serious for a second. I would say delirious, for the record.
The only songs Im not a fan of are Empty Hole and Snacky Poo, but they're such short songs that I dont even mind sitting through them.
