Hoping for more Teenage Emotions than LB2, but Yachty has me hooked for anything at this point

He’s definitely improved as a rapper so the first half should still be hot, but the back half is going to slay me

 

I went back to LB2 for the first time in a bit the other day. Honestly, I think it's way better than I initially gave it credit for. It's really moody for a Yachty project, which I think is an interesting approach for him. Obviously nothing on there is as good as the best songs on Teenage Emotions, but there is a lot to like.

The Lil Baby feature is amazing. Guy is in the midst of a hot streak right now. Probably the most exciting new rapper imo.

 

Idk to me it’s sounds like lil yachty is lost.

“Your boyfriend is a maggot, probably is a ******” is not a lyric I thought Yachty would ever have but here we are....

 

Forever World is an early favorite.

I guess any song Boat does with Forever is the title is probably gonna be tight (see: Forever Young)

I guess I like this more than most but it’s still a bit of a disappointment. Some highlights for sure (love the Baby and Kevin Gates tracks), but think I prefer LB2 over this. It feels like his budget for big pop production was slashed after Teenage Emotions flopped.

 

I like this more than others too, but agree that it's probably his weakest project yet.

 

wish the whole album sounded like Worth It and Everything Good, Everything Right

Still need to listen closer but on first skim it was half good/half forgettable

Wondering if we'll ever get Teenage Emotions era Yachty back
