I'm confused, are the new songs from 2018 or are these 2020 songs added to the album for some reason

 

2018. It's the songs that didn't make the original cut. Keeps referring to it as the OG version of Tha Carter 5

 

So somehow I missed it, but the majority of the "original" Carter V leaked a couple years back and I just learned this and got my hands on it. It's missing the last 5 songs from the tracklist (pasting below) but everything else is in tact aside from a couple tracks that end early.

4 of the tracks (Believe Me, Gotti, Grindin, Start A Fire) were released as final versions as singles
5 tracks appeared in final versions on Carter V, and appear as demo versions here
5 tracks appeared in final versions on Carter V (Deluxe Edition)
13 songs, from what I can tell, were never released officially in any way other than this leak.

Anyway, it's definitely worth a listen of anyone wants me to send over the leak, go ahead and DM me. I also made a playlist that includes the tracklist in order using the final versions that exist plus the leak, in what feels like the most complete version of the original Carter V
