Unfortunately based on his most recent tweets it doesn't seem like he really grasps why it's hurtful to some. I have no doubt he did it with the most pure intentions, and out of context it is a really fun way to have an album rollout. Being cis myself it didn't click until my transmasc friends brought it to my attention, I hope he listens to those it affects and takes it into consideration but we'll see. Hope the rest of the album rollout goes without a hitch.
I don’t think nas x is nearly as boundary pushing or subversive as people act like he is and the fake pregnancy thing kind of just proves it, a lot of it is just thoughtless provocation. He still seems like a good kid with decent music though
I definitely get the concerns about it being transphobic, but I’m not 100% understanding what it has to do with what’s going on in Texas.
just beyond exhausting, and I know this is far beside the point but the continued bastardization and misuse of the phrase emotional labor is just the cherry on top
this is way better than i expected and stylistically way more varied than i anticipated. stuff like life after salem is very great to hear from him. just a level of maturity in songwriting his peers dont really have.
Yeah, he has historically been hit or miss for me but this is a really pleasant surprise. "DEAD RIGHT NOW" and "SCOOP" are highlights (I'm halfway through)
I really like the canned rock sound of “LOST IN THE CITADEL” because of his vocal tone. The lyrics here are way better than he usually gets credit for.
AM I DREAMING is a great closer. I don't love the pop tracks as much (just personal preference) but I'm excite dto spend more time with this and see how it grows on me
