Anyone else down with Halloween? This will be the first Halloween in my own home so decorations gonna be cray cray.

 

I'm not sure what I'll be doing. Depends on what happens with school really.

 

Halloween is awesome. I'd like to decorate at least my balcony even though not a lot of people will see it

 

Meh. My house is run down enough to decorate it without a lot of effort. I just don't care enough to.

 

My 17 year old self always wants to go balls to the wall, but then I remember that parents may not appreciate the blood and guts around their kids. I try to find a balance so that teens and adults get it, but little kids won't have nightmares for years.

 

When I was a kid we always loved the scary house in the neighborhood and my parents would go out of their way so we could check it out

 

I lived in a neighborhood with a guy who would hang sheet-covered "bodies" from nooses for Halloween. It was... Basically everything you'd expect. Quite controversial.

 

That's how my parents were as well. We had a house in our neighborhood that cranked the Halloween theme and would have a masked maniac running around with a blade-less chainsaw. It was great and no one complained. Then one year I came home from school to find it wasn't set up. They told us a family threatened legal action or some bullshit.

 

Yea that would be me. Like I said I get it, and we have to be careful, but i find it disheartening that this stuff has become such a huge issue.

 

Yeah. I mean, I was a 90s kid so it was nowhere near as controversial as it would be today. It was mostly the super churchy families who had a problem with it. But something like that would have such a racial tone today that I'd be scared to even attempt it.

 

Yea, I think I'm going to stick with a bodiless crime scene this year.
