I don’t think anything will ignite quite as much rage as the self serving garbage the Russo’s pulled in Endgame but I’ve definitely hit a breaking point with it
Doctor Manhattan from Watchmen remembering dates, but it’s every time Disney has had a supposed queer milestone.
That's definitely a plot twist I didn't expect, and I'm surprised they're revealing, given the other trailers did not.
What, the time travel thing? I think the previous trailers weren't story focused, and since this seems to be the impetus for the entire story, I'm not surprised they're "revealing" it here. Unless you mean something else, in which case I don't know what that would be.
Yes, I'm gonna overthink the hell out of this one. So is this in the toy story universe, like the movie that inspired the toy? Or is it just completely independent and will not tie in at all (IE - a sci fi movie starring buzz with no reference that there's a toy based on his character)? When it was first announced, I really wanted like a campy version with fake bad special effects, just like what Andy would have watched, or whomever else in the late 80's / mid 90's (based on when toy story came out/was set).
They have said that this is the story of the human that inspired the toy. But it certainly seems odd that this seems to be much more technically advanced than what we’ve seen in Toy Story. So I don’t know. Edit: I apparently have a made up memory of this being said
^ ^ ^ ^ Buzz isn't a real person, or in a real world. Buzz, the toy from Toy Story, was based off a character from a movie. This is the movie.
Probably, I think my main issue is the setting and effects. If we're supposed to believe this inspired the toy, it needs to be purposefully crumby in a way with the effects to fit the timeline of toy story being in the 90's. If it's like the 10th buzz movie and it's come out later, then sure, load up the effects.
I see what you're saying, but I also think that's trying way too hard to legitimately tie this into the world of Toy Story, when that's really not the intent. Like, I think it's disingenuous to even say that this is the movie that inspired the toy, because I don't think that's even the intended purpose. Really, I just think they wanted to make a sci-fi movie starring a legit Buzz Lightyear. I don't think it's anything more than that.
Maybe they want to maintain some mystery haha, people complain when everything is made explicit or not explicit apparently
Chris evan’s tweet a few posts up does not say that. I have seen that comment a lot and not what you quoted at all.
I mean, I can't control the internet. EDIT: On an unrelated note, I type "I mean" a lot. I hate it when I notice things like that.
This is ultimately what I was trying to suss out and you nailed how to approach it. So it's just a sci-fi adventure with buzz lightyear, no need to try to place it, in verse in Toy story. It's just going to be pixars attempt at a sci-fi movie, but just starring a lead that we sort of know.
