I'm a bit cautious for the album since Damage and Alive Again almost sound like the exact same song and they are back to back on the album, but I still am excited. I like Alive Again a lot more than Damage
I have never listened to a single song by Lights, however I very much like the sound of the 2 singles she released for this album. I'm assuming all previous stuff is very different
Ngl, I haven't listened to the singles because I'd rather hear the album in its entirety when it comes out but I'd say her sound has evolved in line with the trends in pop music. I don't mean that in a negative way, but to say each album is slightly different from the one before so I recommend diving into a little bit of everything. I have a preference for her debut because it has a strong indie/electronica influence (The Postal Service especially) and I'm currently very nostalgic for that type of pop Lights, Ellie Goulding, Stacy Clark and others put out around 2008/2010.
Not "very" different in an extremely drastic way. If you like these songs, check out PEP at some point
I only remember liking a song of hers that blew up and was all over MySpace, she managed to stay relevant?
This is a pretty cool/clever idea. You're supposed to play these two videos at the same time, side by side, with only one audio playing at a time, and the videos interact with each other
definitely my least favorite album from her on first listen, and I'm a huge mega-Lights fan. I know it doesn't bother other people, but there is a real lack of diversity on this album, the majority of it is just one vibe with similar guitar tones, melodies and everything. Most of the album just blends together. I'm sure after more listens it'll reveal itself more, but after one listen I'm kinda bummed
on my first listen. stopped listening to the singles after alive again. absolutely adore surface tension. one of my favorite songs she's ever made off rip.
It’s good album just not a lot of variety going on. I can see it growing on me more with time like S&E did
