Epic Holiday & Hallucinations are probably the worst singles in this band's discography. At this point it felt like the band became too much of a cartoonish parody of itself and Tom's voice and melodies started to falter.
dang I had no idea this album wasn’t particularly well liked. It’s easily my favorite and imo the most consistent. admittedly it was also the first I paid real attention to beyond the singles but that’s in part bc I found it so immediately catchy. Shove Young London. Easy choice but EH is underrated. The Flight of Apollo. Love moon but flight’s verses are one of my favorite parts of the record.
It's time for round two! We had very decisive outcomes in round one. Round One Final Totals: Shove - 15 Et Ducit Mundum Per Luce - 2 Young London - 15 Epic Holiday - 2 The Moon-Atomic (...Fragments and Fictions) - 3 The Flight of Apollo - 14 ----------------- Round Two: 1) Shove vs. Some Origins of Fire 2) Hallucinations vs. Clever Love 3) Young London vs. Soul Survivor (...2012) 4) The Flight of Apollo vs. Letters to God Part II
Some Origins of Fire Hallucinations Soul Survivor (admittedly i don't care for it much after the 1:10 mark but i love that intro) Letters to God Part II
Shove - man this was also harder than I thought. Went with my gut. Also the chorus is kinda weak lyrically on Some Origins. I just like a lot of stuff going on in it which made it hard. Hallucinations - easy. Not a ballad fan from this band, really. At least not that one. Young London vs. Soul Survivor (...2012) - maybe the hardest matchup for me this album. Damn. The Flight of Apollo - love the drums too much to let this go.
Current Totals: Shove - 9 Some Origins of Fire - 2 Hallucinations - 9 Clever Love - 2 Young London - 10 Soul Survivor (...2012) - 1 The Flight of Apollo - 7 Letters to God Part II - 4
Some Origins of Fire. Shocked shoved is winning, this chorus is waaaaay better. Hallucinations. Clever love is great but this may be my favorite track. Young London. SS is a top 3-5 track but alas YL is too good. Letters to God Part II. Tight but gave the edge to Letters for better chorus and lyrics. This album’s so good.
