Yeah the food in Inherent Vice is bonkers

extremely underrated movie

 

I haven’t watched it since the theater but have been meaning to rewatch it.

Rewatched it recently and it was better than I remembered but still think it's his weakest by a fair margin.

 

Inherent Vice is not my favorite but it's not my least favorite either. As much as Hard Eight is a great movie it's definitely his "weakest".

 

idk as an inveterate stoner none of his movies move with dream logic for me as much as inherent vice (the master, my second fave pta film, comes close)

 

Inherent Vice just makes me think of The Big Lebowski.

His Altman references are well-known. The Big Lebowski is much more contemporary, though.

 

I haven't watched Magnolia in probably a decade.

 

Magnolia is a fantastic film but it's a real time commitment lol. I think it's on Netflix right now.

 

Magnolia is too intimidating for me haha, I never feel like I have 3 spare hours
