It was…okay! The Penn/Waits and Bradley Cooper scenes were highlights. Acting was solid. Underwhelmed a bit
second viewing was even sweeter. was able to sit and watch some of the scenes just breathe. the fade to introducing Sean Penn's character is so fuckin beautiful.
Thought this was really good, would definitely be near the top of 2021 for me. Haim and Hoffman were both excellent.
I don’t think I realized this was Cooper’s first ever acting role, not even any small parts in anything.
Gonna try and see this again in the theaters if an Oscar screener doesn't pop up on the internet soonish
I wouldn’t hold your breath for an Oscar screener. They’ve been doing only limited digital screeners only.
So was Tom Waits a motorcycle salesman or what, I know cosmically speaking Tom Waits plays himself in any movie he's in but what was his deal classic The Waitress move to name her kids Greg and Gary Cooper and Alana both did a great job considering their first movie/ acting role is working for one of the greats pinball being illegal in LA when Tommy came out completely broke my brain but good to know our country has always been dumb haha
I liked but didn't love this. I did love how every character felt very distinct. Seeing Red Rocket tomorrow.
exceeded my expectations, which were already insanely high the implication with the #12 guy is that he's a homophobe looking to expose/attack Wachs, no?
