Lianne La Havas Band

Couldn’t find a thread for her, but I loved both her 2012 album Is Your Love Big Enough? and 2015 album Blood. She's been on a 5-year hiatus in terms of new recorded music, but she just recently released a new single called "Bittersweet" and I really dig it. Supposedly a full album will be released later this year, but as far as I know, no release date is set yet. Anyway, just curious if there are other fans of hers around these parts.

 

Big Lianne fan! I have to admit I’m a little underwhelmed with this single. It feels like it could have been a blood b-side

 

I agree that this one song doesn’t really justify the long hiatus, but that aside, I like it pretty well. Am hopeful the full album will hold up.

Saw her live in 2016 and it was one of my favorite shows ever. So happy to finally hear her voice again

Yes, she’s so incredible live! Only seen her once, but hope to again. I had tickets for a show in LA at the end of March, but obviously that got canceled.

Unfortunately, I’m not super high on “Paper Thin.” The chord progression at the beginning sounds similar to “Bittersweet” to me, so it’s an interesting choice for a follow-up single. Don’t really feel like the song shows off her voice!

But I still have high hopes for the album!

 

It looks like Weird Fishes is a Radiohead cover she's played live a long time ago

 

I loved her first album when it came out, this has inspired me to give it another listen.

Also, this was announced a little while ago, but the new self-titled album will be released July 17!

Not really digging any of the three singles so far

 

I like “Bittersweet” and this new one “Can’t Fight.” “Paper Thin” hasn’t clicked with me melodically and I don’t like the lyrics for it.

 

Paper Thin is a gem. Cannot wait for this! I've been seeing all the singles, but was wondering when the release date was. Glad it's July, not too far off.

 

Just heard the music video of Paper Thin and it has an extended outro.. gorgeous.

 

I had no idea she had something new coming.

I LOVE her first two records. A pretty singular young talent.

 

I have always loved her Weird Fishes cover, so cool that it's on here! It came out today and sounds great.
