Damn, watching all of the Harry Potters fucks with my actor/director stats so much

 

i think I might hit 300 this year! That would be the most since I was maybe in my early 20s and never did anything but watch two or three movies a night.

The Harry Potter movies actually hold up really well.

 

I liked them okay enough. The horror one was very good

 

they're very, very bad. the best one is on par with mid-tier MCU shit at best

It did stink as the movies went on and they all began to look the same. 1,3,4 were solid.

 

The seventh movie has one of my favorite moments in any movie in the last ten years so...whatever, I think they're pretty goddamn good.

 

Yeah, I think they got stale right around Order of the Phoenix (and so visually dark/hard to look at), but as a whole, I think the series holds up well, MUCH better than the MCU flicks imo. JK Rowling sucks but those early films are great comfort watches for me.

The humor in the HP films at least doesn't feel forced like in the MCU stuff, I think. but yeah fuck JK.

HP books/movies are good but that gringotts shit is unforgivable

 

I don't remember it being a cultural phenomenon when I was growing up. We went from Power Rangers to Star Wars to Pokemon to South Park to Dragonball Z. By the time the movies were coming out I would not have wanted to be caught watching something like that.

HP is a thing where the movies are so wrapped up in my childhood memories that trying to critique them as an adult feels very alien to me.

 

Tho I remember watching the first Fantastic Beasts movie and thinking it was ass
