We reach for the longest shadow

It is jarring how much better this sounds. Like, the panning guitars are throwing me off because I never noticed that before.

EDIT: Okay I've never heard this version with Dan, this sucks, haha. I literally thought a different song started playing at the same time and was looking at my browser tabs to figure out what happened.

I’m not positive I’ve ever heard it til now. Really, really bad. Mix is a huge improvement overall though

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

no clue why they're bothering redoing that version of Dope Beat. Maybe the worst Dan Campbell has ever sounded on a track imo. Im sure the original version w/o the feature will be wayyy better on this.

    Yup, it always bothered me.

What he came up with back then feels at odds with the rest of the track and doesn't match Jason's cadence and energy at all. It sounds tacked on instead of flowing more naturally... like Keith's part on the other song maybe? Been a while since I've heard that one as well, so I don't remember.

  10. Making me realize how much they brought the drums forward on the new mix. It sounds closer to Charles Macak's one posted above, interestingly.

Dan and Keith are two of my favorite lyricists/writers/singers ever and I think both of their contributions are really bad, haha.

Has anyone who has listened noticed if the the vocals leading to the breakdown in That Fear Fever are present or not? I own the vinyl pressing and that was the only major difference I noticed from the original and the new mix version in terms of content.

  16. Yeah it looks like they were removed. Wonder what that’s about

This sounds so much better so far. It’s still got a bit of that grit that they originally intended, but it’s so nice to be able to hear the guitars

  18. Whoa. I already really loved The Blackest Beautiful even with the iffy production. This Revisited version is damn good.

  20. Shit, this absolutely rules. Almost can’t believe it actually exists - absolute dream scenario. Will have to pick up the vinyl if they ever do another pressing.

  22. Been listening to this on vinyl for a few months but stoked to have it on streaming. Album was always a 10/10 but this is its final form and I'm so happy it's real.

  23. Hopefully it makes people come around to it or even realize it’s superior to Fake History. I always thought it retained the intensity of the latter while expanding their sound just enough, making for a more dynamic and diverse listen. A bit like what Glassjaw did with Worship & Tribute.

  24. Some of the more melodic/hook centric songs sounded huge on day one and could’ve been scene staples had they gotten more pristine production back then. Haven’t given this mix a listen yet but I’m happy this is finally out there.

  25. Now that everything sounds clearer, Empty Elvis’ chorus sounds even more like From First To Last circa 2004. Such an ear worm
