I like the verses more than the chorus. Also if I didn't like his voice so much I could see this song being just mediocre, luckily his voice raises it.
First impressions: These two songs are literally just the Jason Butler show Where the fuck is the insanity that made me fall in love with these guys Both of these two songs could've been written by a different band and they probably would have been great in that context but the fact that it's letlive. makes them that much worse considering their discography This song feels like a much, much lesser Lemon Party
Thought I read somewhere that this album is then trying to reach a larger audience/platform so I'm not expecting anything like Fake History. But TBB was hot garbage so I'm not sure what I'm expecting anyway.
I think the songwriting was pretty mediocre on that album. White America's, Younger, The Dope Beat, The Priest and Used Cars, Pheremone Cult are all pretty mediocre at best songs. Night when include Banshee in there.
Pheremone Cult is fucking rad. I really like TBB. i guess the production issues don't bother me as much as some. i just haven't felt any desire to relisten to either of the new tracks much which bums me out. these guys are one of my favorite bands but it feels like they are watering the music down for the sake of accessibility.
Lucky enough to see them at The Underworld in Camden last month, and Good Mourning, America goes down surprisingly well. I think it's decent, but can totally see why people think it's boring. Now the newest song, like wtf, sounds like a BMTH/Pierce the Veil song. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's not as mental and fun as stuff from Fake History or even the better tracks on TBB. As a letlive song in respect to the rest of their music, it's pretty shit imo Think Fake History is going to end up being a one off in their discography...
My friend said that about Fake History after TBB and these two songs have only vindicated him further
Yeah, it's more of a British thing aha but on reflection probably inappropriate, something like energetic, lively, idk struggling to find a word strong enough but you get what I meant
Chaotic is the word I'd use. I knew what you were going for originally, but I felt like I wanted to say something but I didn't want to come off as confrontational.
Honestly, I'm a little surprised people aren't into Reluctantly Dead. The first single I felt was a little lackluster, not very memorable. This one has a pretty strong hook, imo.
I liked what they were doing with the bridge. I think they needed to keep building on that instead of going back to the chorus
I still like TBB quite a bit even if it's no Fake History. It's gonna be interesting to see where this one lands when all is said and done.
Anyone have any idea what the third line of the chorus is? I've got: "You believe that they came here to protect you, But, see, I would rather run ??????? You believe that they came here to protect you, But, see, I am not the one 'Cause I will be reluctantly dead."
