Yeah I remember listening to the ones with Keith Buckley and Dan Campbell and still thought the songs sounds bad and I remember thinking the guest vocalist parts felt odd/out of place
Agreed, especially relistening. I love Dan but his part doesn't make sense. And yes I remember them saying the whole album would be like this!
From what I’ve read, it looks like they were planning to do the whole album, but they shelved it to do IITD and then broke up a year later
I think at some point I heard Dan say the vocals were actually mixed in the wrong spot and they just kept it because it sounded better or something? I might be wrong but I think that's something I've heard at one point.
Cameron is indeed remembering correctly. Charles Macak Sound | Mixing Engineer – I MAKE MUSIC I'm almost positive there used to be more than just The Dope Beat there though.
man this would probably be the best on the album if they’d gone with this version. this fuckin rips never heard this one before. don’t usually like his voice but he fits this way better than he should haha
same with this one actually. his voice works so well on this song. it’s such a shame the actual album doesn’t have this production quality. these sound like entirely different – better – songs
I don't love the mixes on the renditions either - they're pretty thin - but it's crazy that you can hear whole guitar parts you've never heard before on them.
The Priest And Used Cars was the other one on his site. I remember many users asking me for those once, so if anyone still haven't got them, just send me a pm.
10 Years of Fake History announced. Album today and reddit AMA. Jason just went live on IG and shared some memories.
I'm curious to find out who was part of what demos. They still had an unstable line up during those years if I remember correctly
They really just gave me an instrumental of Over Being Under so I can sing it myself We eatin good today yall
