That's just how it ended up for me. Maybe that's unfair because it probably didn't get the play time it deserved. I love dreamers disease, the fear fever, and virgin dirt but there's also a lot of songs that don't do anything for me.
i have not only them but also two songs mixed by someone who was supposed to work on the full album if Letlive hadn't made the wrong choice. Both songs sound ferocious and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the album versions, it's insane how much difference mixing makes.
Which songs? Because you know the next question is "Is it possible for us to listen by any chance?" haha
A Dope Beat and That Fear Fever I think ? Both files have weird names on them so over the time I forgot the real names of the songs lol
pms sent, so are you even more frustrated by the album versions haha ? like damn, you can finally clearly hear the guitars' riffs. what the hell. it's obvious they totally fucked up when it comes to picking the right mixer/masterer
Just saw, they're also both streaming on his website too if anyone else wants to listen! Charles Macak | Producer Engineer
letlive. - Renditions - YouTube Here are the renditions if you've never heard them. Besides that I'm not aware of any others
the ones they released for the potential renditions album that never came out. i think that's it unless someone discovers another producer who briefly worked on this album haha
ohhhh, I know about the Renditions, thought you guys meant another set like the Charles Macak where someone had made their own mixes.
Just listened to the two Charles mixes...actually wish they had a mixing job that was right in the middle of the two. This version sounds too "dry" for what they were going, and the other version definitely has a more "epic" vibe, but the other one is too muddle that it cuts out some of the impact of the riffs and aggression
Yea the Charles one for Dope Beat, I actually prefer the vocals on the album version but instruments for sure are better on Charles one.
Yeah I'm glad they changed the chorus and restructured that one riff in the chorus. Glad they still have the "I LOVE THIS PART, LISTEN"
i love those Macak versions but i agree, there's some groove and heaviness missing that the album ones have, though the latters sound way too muddy to let us hear the instruments. you know what producer would have been perfect for this album or for this band in general ? Ross Robinson, imagine TBB with Redeemer's production or Kurt Ballou
I wish Ross Robinson would have gotten his hands on IITD, he would have made them write better songs (see: Night Verses)
Night Verses' new album is such a tough listen. They didn't change their style drastically, but they changed it up so much that it took me like 10 listens to appreciate it. One of the most interesting albums released in the scene these last few years.
