It's going to take a big fuck-up from another band to outdo this as my biggest disappointment of the year.
Neither Say Anything nor this were disappointments for me because I didn't have expectations for either. I kinda liked this but hated Say Anything. I dont even know what my biggest disappointment this year would be.
Whenever I'm feeling sad about this album I'm just going to listen to the new Night Verses instead and everything will be good again
there was an initial honeymoon period i had with it where i thought it wasn't all too bad but there is literally nothing i want to go back to now.
I keep forgetting this album exists then I remember listening to it and realizing I forgot about it for good reason
I definitely like it less than The Blackest Beautiful, which is the only other letlive. record I've listened to, but still I don't think it's bad at all. I'll just chalk that up to not being a huge fan of the band.
Fake History is a mile better than TBB and I'm a big fan of TBB, haha. Don't bother with anything past FH though
Neither of these two sound anything like Fake History haha I still like this album a lot. Think it loses steam toward the end but I wouldn't call it bad
letlive has been one of my favorite bands for years. TBB was even one of my very top albums of the year (despite production). I've listened to this one maybe three times all the way through and there's only maybe three, four songs I go back to? I can't explain why I don't like it, I'm just definitely disappointed. Even on their first day of tour, a few days after the album had been out, Jason was making comments about people who don't like the album. So clearly they knew that it was a bit of a leap. I just miss the pure aggression and catchy hooks.
Officially I don't think so, but I think I right clicked on the song and it gave me an option to save to my computer or something.
The last 1/3 of it has just about nothing going for it. I have a new least favorite song every time, haha. Currently it's the closer; bland bland bland song built around one hell of an annoying lyrical cliche. Makes the track before it sound great in comparison, and that's saying something.
The more I listen to this album, the more I'm puzzled by the response to it on here. My opinions on this band are always weird though I guess, seeing as I prefer The Blackest Beautiful to Fake History. Back to this album though, "Foreign Cab Rides" is a standout.
i def think foreign cab rides is a standout. i also think it's saying something that one of the album's stand out moments borrows heavily from another band's song.
I like TBB more than FH. It's more well-rounded and I think the addition of more styles boosted it a lot. FH is amazing though.
I always assumed I liked FH better but now thinking about it, I think TBB has more *great* songs. Either way, I think they are both fantastic.
Finally gave it a proper listen. Pretty disappointing considering how much I liked TBB. The title track is decent I guess.
