These sound amazing. Would love to see them do more re-recordings of some of the older stuff. Like Short On Ideas / One Last Cigarette
Hello Rockview was the first Less Than Jake album I ever heard/bought. With that said, I always get nervous about rerecordings, but I really like these. I feel like this is how these two songs sounded when I heard them the first time 24+ years ago (in a fresh/positive way), but that's obviously not the case lol
As someone who was a huge fan in the early to mid 2000s and then dropped off pretty hard after GNV FLA, what are the highlights from roughly the past 10 years?
Their Greetings and Salutations album combines two EPs into one record and the band has said it was essentially an effort to create a bunch of songs that sounded like “singles.” It’s a collection of catchy solid songs. See The Light from 2013 has some good songs, and their Sound the Alarm EP from 2017 also has a couple great tracks. Their album from 2020, Silver Linings, for me was kind of a dud. I never listen to it. Just doesn’t sound like the LTJ I enjoy. But people will vehemently disagree and say it’s a great album.
Everything they've put out at least has some highlights and are all worth checking out imo. Best tracks of all the recent stuff: High Cost of Low Living Lie To Me Whatever The Weather Bomb Drop Good Enough Harvey Wallbanger
I would also argue that their song, The Sit Around is one of their better post gnv songs. You really get to hear JR shine vocally, which I would like to see a little more of.
Just realized those songs aren’t on Spotify…kinda want to hear them, if they’re as good as claimed. Here they are:
any Long Island/NYC folks, this should be a fun time in a few weeks. Havent really seen it plugged much on social medias;
Only just caught that they use a different part of the same speech for the quote at the beginning of Metalheads. Neat!
